Thanks for your interest in our trip! The idea for Project:GoThere was born in our freshman dorm room and percolated there for three years. Planning a trip of this magnitude had its fair share obstacles and we thank God that it finally came to fruition. We don't find it a coincidence that the time, resources, and guys all came together to make it a reality.
Get To Know The Guys
Theodore Muschany
I am a St. Louis, Mo., native studying Business and Spanish at Miami University in Ohio. During college, I lived in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, for a year, mentoring street boys and at-risk men. I value building relationships, recognizing others’ perspectives and immersing myself in different cultures. I am excited to grow and learn from others on Project:GoThere, and I believe this experience will again alter and reshape my view of the world. |
James Guebert
As the son of a geology professor from small-town Indiana, I spent chunks of my childhood exploring second homes like coastal California, the Black Hills, and countless national parks. I studied Philosophy of Global Justice and Economics at Wheaton College, taking a gap semester to participate in Project:GoThere. I'm passionate about global dialogue, and am invariably looking for ways to further understand of my role in this equation. Project:GoThere was a relieving expression and a bold refinement of how I perceive my purpose. I could not be more honored to learn as a passing guest from my neighbors to the South. |

I am a native of St. Louis, Mo., where my family has ministered my entire life. Growing up as a minority in the impoverished Northside while attending a suburban, private Christian school, I observed and experienced the tension that exists when different cultures interact--or more often, do not. Project:GoThere combines my insatiable love of the outdoors with my heart to learn from people of diverse cultures. With my degree in Business and Economics from Wheaton College, I plan to pursue a career in urban economic development, and eventually run for mayor of St. Louis. |
Karl Cassel
A native of the Chicago suburbs, I grew up spending summers exploring the Adirondack Mountains of New York and the North Woods of Wisconsin. My passion for experiencing different cultures was ignited through learning from and hearing the stories of the people I met while traveling the world with my grandparents, Dr. Richard and Marge Gieser. They modeled for me how to improve the lives of others by giving of their time and skills. |
